How to Write Your E-book Get it Published and Sold - Fast! by Angela M. Kaelin Get instructions on how to write, publish and sell your first ebook. In writing your first ebook, there are few things you need, including software, which can be obtained free or at very little cost. Organization is key. Get your free ebook that details, step-by-step, how to organize, write, design graphics for and publish your first ebook. Simply, subscribe to the Writer's Fast Track Newsletter by placing a name (Mickey Mouse is fine) and a valid e-mail address in the red box in the upper left hand corner. If you are considering writing an ebook, you probably have a lot of questions. There is a lot for you to try to figure out aside from the actual writing itself. Once you have your completed book, you have to put it in the right format, create a graphic, set up a payment and delivery system and put a marketing plan in place. The most difficult part of writing an ebook for most people is the actual writing. If you are already any kind of writer, you have what it takes to write an ebook. If you can write articles, then you can write an ebook. You just need to add a high level of organization to the process. If you are not already a writer, it might be easier for you to get started writing by submitting a few articles to online websites that publish article content. Most of these sites have some writing standards and editors will look over your articles and help you improve your writing in small ways before you leap into ebook writing. Planning to Write Your Ebook
Consider the purpose of your ebook. Are you writing an ebook to sell as a product on its own? Are you writing to increase your subscriber list or to increase traffic to your website? A lot of people make a good income by writing and distributing free ebooks. But, for an ebook to be valuable it must help someone. It must give information. Currently, the most popular ebooks written are those that show people how to do something. The best ebooks solve a problem for people. It is easier to write about what you know. But, it is possible to become an expert on a subject you don't know a lot about by conducting a lot of very careful research and documenting your findings. Consider Your Target Market As you plan and write your book, keep your audience in mind. Are they beginners, intermediate or experts? What are their needs? What style of writing would they be comfortable reading? Fortunately, on the internet, there is a market for almost any subject. You may be surprised to learn that your ebook may find greater success if you choose a niche topic that is more obscure, but still in demand. Fewer ebooks on a subject means less competition for you and maybe a better chance of being found in the search engines. Ebook Compilers Once you've finished your ebook, you've edited and proofread it (in that order) and you have it just like you want it, you may be worried about what to do next. Don't worry. Everything you need to easily convert your Word document into ebook format is free online. Some of these are so simple to use that its just a matter of pushing a couple of buttons. There is generally some controversy about which format, .exe or .pdf, is preferable. But, the .pdf file, which can be opened by your readers using a free Adobe Reader is by far the most popular. EWriterPro, available for only $7 is an amazing E-book compiler. I use it because it is compatible with other e-book software. Click here for more information. Designing a 3-D Cover for Your Ebook If you have been looking at ebooks on the internet, you have probably noticed that they have a 3-D graphic of the ebook accompanying the advertisement for the book. These pictures are easy for you to create - even if you're not a graphic designer. It can be done with free images and free software. It will take some patience, but if you are planning on writing many ebooks, this is a skill that you will want to develop. Alternatively, some writers hire graphic artists to design their covers. Publishing Your E-book and Getting It Sold Publishing your ebook on a shoestring is easy. If you want to do it inexpensively and take responsibility for handling the marketing entirely on your own, then e-junkie.com is a good choice. Another popular service for delivering your digital products safely and swiftly is Clickbank.com. There is a one-time fee to get your product into their marketplace where you can find a team of affiliates to help you sell your product. But, e-junkie.com may be your better choice, especially if you are writing your first e-book. Final Word If you don't already have a PayPal account, you will want to open one so that you can accept and make payments online. This is also free and relatively easy to do. PayPal works in conjunction with many other websites. If you don't already have a website and hosting for your ebook, you will probably want to obtain this. It is not absolutely necessary, but it certainly helps. You might also want to set up an autoresponder so that you can keep in touch with your buyers and visitors to your site. Whatever you do, you will want to learn more about SEO (search engine optimization) article marketing. This is one of the best and least expensive ways to get attention for your e-book and make sales. The fact is that to be a successful writer you have to be a marketer, as well. Once you've done all of this the first time, it gets easier. The whole point is to put a system in place that works. If you do it right and keep building, you will eventually construct a writing empire that pays you. ![]() |
